About Our Commitment

Balancing Conservation and Rural Development

Naturoots was founded with the mission of promoting harmony between nature conservation and the sustainable development of rural areas. We work to highlight the natural values of the territories where we operate and to raise awareness of the importance of conserving our shared natural heritage.

An Integrated Socio-Ecological Vision

We promote a holistic approach that recognises the interdependence between humans and ecosystems. In Mediterranean landscapes—shaped by people for over two millennia—human presence can and should play a key role in maintaining ecological balance.

Challenges and Commitments

Rural depopulation and demographic shifts towards cities threaten both biodiversity and cultural identity. Vast areas of Spain now have population densities comparable to the Arctic regions of Finland, leading to the loss of valuable natural and cultural heritage. Naturoots is committed to reversing this trend through ecotourism, education, and sustainable employment in rural areas.

Reconnecting with Nature

We believe that rebuilding our connection with nature is essential. Through our activities, we aim to foster respect, curiosity, and stewardship, ensuring that both people and ecosystems can thrive together.
